Chase Brown: ‘F*** whatever people say’

Chase Brown: ‘F*** whatever people say’
Cincy Jungle Cincy Jungle

The Cincinnati Bengals lost in the ugliest game in franchise history on Sunday in Minnesota. Instead of going 3-0 to start the season for the first time in a decade, the Bengals lost by a staggering 38 points, and trailed by 45 at one point in the third quarter. Both of those numbers are new records for the franchise.

Bengals primary running back Chase Brown had some fiery words after he was asked what he would say to analysts who would undoubtedly question whether the Bengals’ offense can function without star quarterback Joe Burrow.

“Yeah, that’s fine. Let people, you know, have their own opinion about us and what we’re capable of. But as long as we stay tight, and focus on getting better, and get out of our feels, and put this behind us, we’ll be just fine. The main thing we got to take away as a team is that we have to play with a chip on our shoulder. F*ck whatever people say. As long as we’re good in this locker room, we’ll be just fine.”

The Bengals’ offense couldn’t get anything going all afternoon. Brown himself was held to a measly three yards on 10 carries, and the offense only averaged 2.5 yards per rush throughout the afternoon. If the Bengals were hoping to use the running game to set up a passing attack, they were obviously outcoached and outplayed.

The Bengals will go to Denver to face off against the Broncos on Monday Night Football to cap off Week 4 of the league’s schedule. If the Bengals don’t make some major repairs, on both sides of the ball, in their long week of practice, they’ll be 2-2 heading into Week 5.
