Chargers workout pair of edge rushers in wake of Khalil Mack’s injury

Per the NFL transaction wire, the Chargers worked out a pair of edge rushers on Wednesday in former Raiders first-round pick Clelin Ferrell and former Titans fourth-round pick Rashad Weaver.

Ferrell, the former fourth-overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Clemson, spent the 2019-2022 seasons with the Raiders before being waived and landing in San Francisco for the 2023 season. In 2024, Ferrell was a member of the Washington Commanders. In his six-year career, Ferrell has recorded 159 tackles, 17 sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 12 passes defended.

Weaver was drafted out of Pittsburgh in 2021. After three years with the Titans, Weaver spent chunks of the 2024 season with the Rams and Texans while most recently being a member of the Jets practice squad. In four seasons, Weaver has career totals of 49 tackles, 5.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
