The Chargers are 3-0 and the longer they ride this undefeated streak, the higher they will continue to climb across the power rankings. With a matchup against the 0-3 New York Giants this week, there’s a good chance they actually do.
Without further ado, let’s see where the media has the Bolts after their recent win over the Denver Broncos.

“Justin Herbert should be the early MVP favorite. No offense to Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, but Herbert has been incredible so far. His game-tying touchdown pass to Keenan Allen was unbelievable. It’s early but Herbert is clearly in the top tier of NFL quarterbacks.” – Frank Schwab

“In Year 6, Justin Herbert is living up to the massive expectations that have long surrounded him. He leads the NFL with 860 passing yards to go with six touchdowns and one interception. His strong start has him as the player with the third-best odds to be named MVP, per BetMGM.” – Josh Kendall

“Justin Herbert is leading the league in passing yards. For a Jim Harbaugh-coached team? That’s impressive.” – Pete Prisco

“The Chargers are 3-0 for the first time since 2002, and most importantly, they are also 3-0 in the division with wins over each of their AFC West rivals, giving them a huge early edge in the race. All three victories have come in competitive games, with the Chargers more outlasting their opponents than anything else. Sunday’s win over Denver also came at a cost, with Najee Harris suffering a season-ending Achilles injury. The Bolts’ struggles to run the ball were already anathema to the typical DNA of a Jim Harbaugh team. Now, the onus is on first-rounder Omarion Hampton, who had a good second half vs. the Broncos, to be the bell cow from here on out. But as long as Los Angeles has Justin Herbert and these passing-game weapons, this team has a shot. Herbert’s late TD throw to Keenan Allen is about as good a play as you’ll see a QB make this season.“ – Eric Edholm

“Jesse Minter’s defense has been among the league’s best in many categories. However, the Chargers have struggled on fourth down. Opponents are converting 71% of their attempts against L.A., which ranks 22nd in the NFL. The fourth-down struggles were apparent Sunday: Denver wide receiver Courtland Sutton scored a 52-yard touchdown on fourth-and-1 just before halftime, which gave the Broncos much-needed momentum and nearly led to the Chargers’ first loss of the season.” – Kris Rhim
