The Chargers will officially kickoff the 2025 regular season by hosting the NFL’s second game in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

This morning, the NFL announced that the Los Angeles Chargers have been designated as the host team for the league’s second-ever regular-season game in Sao Paolo, Brazil. The game will take place at Arena Corinthians on Friday, September 5th.

To begin the 2024 season, the Eagles hosted the Packers in the first-ever game at Arena Corinthians and came away victorious en route to winning Super Bowl LIX. Could a victory in this one help springboard the Chargers into a dream season in year two under Jim Harbaugh?

This officially makes it seven games that the NFL will play outside of the United States during the 2025 regular season. It joins three games in London, one in Berlin, one in Madrid, and one in Ireland.

Arena Corinthians is the home stadium for the Brazilian soccer club SC Corinthians. It was also the official venue for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

Per the NFL, Brazil is an important global market with more than 36 million fans, which would make it the second largest international fan base outside of Mexico.
