The Los Angeles Chargers are sending their fans home disappointed after a 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 5 at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers led 10-0 in the first half, but things failed to click in the second half as the Commanders found some momentum. From there, the Chargers couldn’t find a way to get back into the game.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed 22 of 29 passes for 166 yards, a touchdown and an interception that ultimately killed all momentum for Los Angeles. Herbert was the leading rusher with 60 yards on four carries while rookie Omarion Hampton left the game with an injury after logging 12 carries for 44 yards.
Wide receiver Keenan Allen recorded his 1000th career reception while catching a team-high five receptions for 58 yards.
The Chargers return to the field in Week 6 when they travel to south Florida to face the Miami Dolphins.
