Los Angeles Chargers left tackle Joe Alt was carted off with a knee injury in Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans. The Chargers say Alt is questionable to return.

The Pittsburgh Steelers play the Chargers at SoFi Stadium next Sunday night, so Alt’s injury will be something to monitor.

Alt got rolled up on from behind, and at first glance, it didn’t look good for the second-year offensive lineman out of Notre Dame. Quarterback Justin Herbert got sacked the very next play after Alt’s injury.

To say the least, Alt would be a massive loss for the Chargers.

The Chargers are undefeated (4-0) when Alt starts and finishes a game this season. With him: 26.8 points per game and 37 pressures allowed and a108.8 passer rating. Without him, 20.3 PPG, 55 pressures allowed and a 87.3 passer rating.

If Alt can’t go, Steelers’ edge rushers Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig will get Austin Deculus or Trey Pipkins III.

T.J. Watt gave Alt a welcome to the NFL moment last year, recording his 99.5 career sack.

Alt said he learned a lot with facing Watt, wants to be quicker getting off the snap moving forward.

It remains to be seen if Alt will get another crack at Watt and the Steelers’ edge rushers.

The Steelers (4-3) lead the red-hot 7-1 Indianapolis Colts, 17-7, at halftime. The Chargers (5-3) lead the Tennessee Titans (1-7), 20-17, at halftime.
