The Chargers are signing DT Da’Shawn Hand to a one-year deal to help fill out a shallow defensive line room.

The Chargers continue to go bargain bin shopping as they’ve found another low-cost player at a position of need.

Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Chargers have agreed to terms with former Dolphins and Titans defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand to a one-year deal worth up to $3.35 million. Since the reported deal is “up to” $3.35 million, expect Hand’s cap hit for 2025 to be even lower than that.

Hand comes to Los Angeles after two season with the Miami Dolphins where he played in 33 total games while starting two contests. He collected 48 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

The 29-year old’s most productive season came as a rookie in 2018 with the Detroit Lions where he collected 27 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

Hand is nothing more than a depth signing for the Chargers who have to build up a defensive line room that’s lost Poona Ford to the Rams while Morgan Fox is still on the open market.
