Chargers sign TE Thomas Yassmin
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

The Chargers announced on Thursday morning that they’ve signed former Broncos tight end Thomas Yassmin to the team. In a corresponding move, the Bolts waived/injured tight end Jordan Petaia who joined the team this year through the NFL’s International Player Pathway training program. Yassmin is also a former IPP prospect who joined Denver through the program last season.

Yassmin played his college football at the University of Utah from 2018-2023. He redshirted his first season on campus before playing in 47 games (with 10 starts) over the next five seasons. Yassmin finished his college career with 22 receptions for 396 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 6’5, 251-pound Australia played both rugby and basketball at The Scots College in New South Wales. Yassmin will join a fairly established tight end room that just released McCallan Castles to make room for Keenan Allen on the roster. Yassmin will wear No. 49 for the Chargers.
