On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers announced a pair of transactions regarding their practice squad.
Firstly, the Bolts are welcoming back running back Jaret Patterson who also spent the 2024 season in Los Angeles. He played collegiately at the University of Buffalo where he was one of the most prolific running backs in the entire country. Patterson originally signed with the Commanders following the draft and first signed with the Chargers in 2023.

In a corresponding move, the Chargers are releasing edge rusher Clelin Ferrell from the practice squad. Ferrell signed with the Chargers following a workout in Week Five before playing 17 snaps against the Commanders. The former Clemson standout was also the fourth-overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Raiders. Ferell has also had stints with the Commanders and 49ers.
