Chargers Schedule Rumor: Bolts to host Vikings on Thursday Night Football

The last time the Chargers and Vikings faced off, Alohi Gilman picked off Kirk Cousins to win in walk-off fashion.

There haven’t been a ton of rumors circulating about the Chargers and their 2025 schedule this week, but we finally have one that will peak your interest.

According to multiple reports on X (Twitter), the Chargers supposedly will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week Eight on Thursday Night Football. This is also the first reported primetime game for the Chargers in 2025, but don’t be surprised to see several more as the Bolts remain one of the most-watchable teams in the NFL thanks to the Jim Harbaugh effect.

The last time these two teams met, they were both winless entering Week Three of the 2023 season and what we got was an instant classic.

It was a back-and-forth game with plenty of offensive fireworks that ended in a walk-off interception off quarterback Kirk Cousins by safety Alohi Gilman with the Vikings just outside the end zone. Each team racked up 475 yards of offense as Justin Herbert played one of the best games of his entire career.

This time however, the Vikings will have to face the Chargers inside SoFi Stadium, somewhere they likely hate playing after recording one of their three losses a season ago against the Rams.
