Bolts From The Blue
On Saturday morning, the Associated Press announced their 2025 NFL All-Pro teams and the Los Angeles Chargers landed a pair of players on the second team in safety Derwin James and linebacker/special-teamer Del’Shawn Phillips.
James was named to the All-Pro team as a slot cornerback, his second consecutive honor at that position. He ended the 2025 regular season with 94 total tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions (tied career high), seven pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He’s been integral to the success of the Chargers defense under Jesse Minter and his impact has once again been recognized by the voters for another year.
Phillips was recognized as one of the league’s best special-teams contributors after leading the Chargers in special teams snaps (352) and finishing with 24 coverage tackles, the second most in the NFL this season. His final stats of the regular season included 37 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and a fumble recovery.
