Omarion Hampton is a very large human but he does not make Jim Harbaugh look miniscule. A viral photo that was posted by the Los Angeles Chargers does not reflect reality.
He is big, but not that big. It’s a perspective thing.
Hampton was selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after a well-decorated career at North Carolina. The former four-star recruit earned First-Team All-American honors in both 2023 and 2024. The Los Angeles Chargers obviously loved what they saw from their new running back.
When you watch him, he’s physical, he’s explosive, he’s tough, he’s got great balance, he’s got excellent speed, gets outside, finishes long runs and breaks off big gains. When you watch him in the secondary, he just lowers his shoulders and runs through tackles. Like coach (Harbaugh) said, he also has value as a pass receiver. Just another player to add to the stable and get after it.

At 6-foot-0, 221 pounds, Omarion Hampton is a well-built ball-carrier with nimble feet who runs hard downhill behind his pads. He went for more than 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns in each of the last two years.
There are a lot of reasons for fans to be excited about what he brings to Harbaugh’s offense.

The 22-year-old rookie arrived to the team facility in El Segundo after the NFL Draft over the weekend. His mother and father joined him on the trip to Los Angeles.
Jim Harbaugh was there to greet them in a suit. Hampton arrived in all black from head to toe.
The Chargers posted a series of photos from his first day with the organization. One particular image makes it seem like Hampton is a literal giant. Harbaugh looks absurdly small while shaking his hand.
As fun as it is to ogle at the size of Omarion Hampton compared to Jim Harbaugh, this specific photo does not reflect reality. It is deceptive. Something happened with the camera angle that makes it seem like the first-year running back towers over his new head coach. He is a big guy but not that big.
Harbaugh stands 6-foot-3, 215 pounds. The 61-year-old weighs only six pounds less than Hampton and stands three inches taller.

I hate to be the guy that ruins the fun, but the truth must prevail. Omarion Hampton has a few pounds on Jim Harbaugh but Harbaugh stands his own next to Hampton!
