The Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to get back in the win column as they host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8’s edition of Thursday Night Football.

The Vikings are going into the game with a 3-3 record after falling to the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles at home, which is part of the reason why the Chargers are going into the game as a favorite. FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Chargers as a 2.5-point favorite over the Vikings.

The Chargers lost their fourth game in five weeks in Week 7 as they fell to the Indianapolis Colts in a 38-24 loss at home.

It’s a short week for the Chargers, which doesn’t bode well for the injured players’ chances of returning. Offensive tackle Joe Alt has been out since Week 4 with an ankle injury and the team has gone 1-3 since his exit from the lineup.

If the Chargers are going to win, they cannot get into a big hole like they did against the Colts. They fell behind 23-3 in the first half, which put the game out of reach from the start. While the offense picked up in the second half, it was too little, too late for the Chargers.

However, one player who could offer some optimism is rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden II, who caught seven passes for 164 yards and a touchdown.

Kickoff between the Vikings and Chargers is set for Thursday at 5:15 p.m. ET. Fans can stream the game on Amazon Prime Video.
