Reinforcements are coming for the Chargers defense.

Per head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers are opening the 21-day window for Khalil Mack to return from IR. After suffering a dislocated elbow against the Raiders in Week Two, the veteran pass rusher has now missed the requisite four games to be eligible to return.

Once back, Mack will pair with both Tuli Tuipulotu and newly-acquired Odafe Oweh to make up the new pass rush for the Chargers. Oweh had a sack in his first game with the Bolts this past Sunday and now fans can look forward to new potential defensive packages that feature all three players rushing the passer at once.

When Mack returns, veteran Bud Dupree and youngster Caleb Murphy are likely to take backseats again on defense. Murphy will continue to be a stud on special teams, but Dupree will likely fill in as EDGE4 from here on.
