When the Chargers announced their official 53-man roster on Tuesday, fans were surprised to see them only keep three running backs which meant waiving both Raheim Sanders and Kimani Vidal. The hope, of course, was for both to land back on the practice squad following Wednesday’s waiver claims.
Unfortunately, all the hype and potential that surrounded Sanders as a promising UDFA this season has quickly vanished after it was reported that he’d been claimed by the Cleveland Browns. Sanders, along with 2024 seventh-round pick Trikweze Bridges and wide receiver Dalevon Campbell, were claimed on Wednesday’s first wave of transactions. Bridges was snagged by the Dallas Cowboys while Campbell returns to the Carolinas (played at South Carolina) where he will join the Panthers.
With those claims out of the way, the Chargers can now begin building their practice squad and it’s safe to say that the Bolts’ 2024 sixth-round pick in Vidal will be returning on the PS.
