Chargers Draft Target Preview: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, ARI
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

Could the Chargers have the top receiver in the class fall into their laps during the 2025 NFL Draft?

There is little doubt that the Los Angeles Chargers offense was hurt by the departure of both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this past offseason. While Ladd McConkey did help ease the burden of that loss a little bit, there was still a very clear deficit of offense compared to everyone else within their division in the pass catching group. Adding a big-bodied playmaker like Arizonaโ€™s Tetairoa McMillan could be the remedy to the ales of this Los Angeles passing attack.

McMillan has been an absolute unstoppable force for the Wildcats as their primary offensive weapon and the main reason their offense was so competitive. Over the last two seasons in Arizona McMillan wracked up over 2,700 yards and 18 touchdowns, proving to be one of the best receivers in all of college football over that time span. McMillans large frame and calculated explosiveness make him a nightmare to defend before and after the catch, as he can make defenders look silly with the ball in his hands as a fluid and intelligent runner, or dominate the boundaries as an elite contested catch receiver.

On day one McMillan would slot in as the โ€˜Xโ€™ receiver within the Jim Harbaugh offense, allowing McConkey to play primarily in the slot and Quentin Johnston to play on the opposite hash as another towering threat. While it may be difficult to perceive McMillan falling all the way down to the Chargers, it wouldnโ€™t be out of the realm of possibilities for the team to leap up a few spots should the stud receiver begin to tumble. Securing a big receiver who can also provide within the rushing attack has to be a priority for this front office, and McMillan fits that bill in a big way.
