The more things change, the more they stay the same. Analysts consistently predict the Pittsburgh Steelers will finally have their implosion season, yet the HC Mike Tomlin-led Black and Gold continue to lose playoff games.
CBS Sports’ Jeff Kerr tackled the latest rendition of ‘will this season finally spell disaster for the Steelers’ and argues that 2025 will be the year Pittsburgh experiences a ‘major fall.’
Kerr had this to say in support of his argument that the Pittsburgh Steelers will face a major setback in 2025:
“They averaged 14.2 points per game and allowed 24.7 over the last five games, as Pittsburgh couldn’t find a way to score points consistently. Four of those five games were against 10+ win teams, and the Steelers were outscored by 64 points in those games.”
Kerr also pointed to inconsistency at quarterback, offensive line, and wide receiver—as well as the tough AFC North competition—as reasons why the Steelers may struggle next season.
Can the Pittsburgh Steelers utilize the doubters to rebound in a major way for 2025, or is the team doomed to another winning yet mediocre season?
