The Carolina Panthers traded back up into the first round in 2024 to nab Xavier Legette, a wide receiver from South Carolina.
Legette caught 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns in 2024. He had an issue with drops all year.
He is expected to have a big season in 2025, but things are starting off terribly. A concerning development on Day 1 of the team’s mandatory minicamp left every fan holding their breath.
Legette was spotted leaving the practice field with Carolina’s training staff.

It made matters worse when you realized the Panthers wideout had surgery on his right foot after the season and was in a boot for a while.
Xavier Legette had surgery on his right foot after the season and was in a boot for a while. Details never surfaced on what the surgery was, but never like seeing this response as he gets back to practicing.

Details never surfaced on what the surgery entailed.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette, a second-year wide receiver who showed promise in his rookie season, was seen limping off the field with his cleats off as trainers attended to his foot.
This development is concerning for Legette, who has dealt with injuries in the past, including issues with his groin, wrist, and foot last season.
Legette, drafted by the Panthers as the 32nd overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft, was expected to make an impact during his rookie year.
Luckily, there was good news.
The former first-round pick out of South Carolina came back into the mix after being assessed by Carolina’s medical staff.

Everyone is rooting for Xavier Legette, which is why this came with gasps of disbelief.
Legette still has plenty of time and all the physical tools he needs to develop into a star receiver. If he can make that all-important sophomore leap, the sky is the limit for the Panthers.
