The veteran cornerback resided on the non-football injury list.
The sidelined group has reduced by three for the New England Patriots.
Cornerback Carlton Davis, wide receiver Jeremiah Webb and linebacker Jahlani Tavai passed their physicals in time for Wednesdayβs opening practice of training camp, per the transaction wire.
Each had been among the seven placed on the non-football injury and physically unable to perform lists as rookies, quarterbacks and rehabbing players reported back to Gillette Stadium.
Davis, 28, began the week on the NFI list. The veteran corner signed a three-year, $54 million contract in March following stops with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. Selected No. 63 overall out of Auburn in the 2018 NFL draft, Davis stands 89 games and 88 starts into his career. The Super Bowl LV champion has registered 380 tackles and 11 interceptions along with four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.
Webb, 23, agreed to terms with the Patriots as part of the organizationβs undrafted class in May. The rookie wideout, who also opened on the NFI list, played collegiately at South Dakota and South Alabama. He finished last fall with 36 receptions for 649 yards and five touchdowns across 13 appearances.
Tavai, 28, sustained a calf injury in the spring that resulted in him landing on the PUP list. The veteran linebacker, who made his way to the Patriots on the practice squad in 2021, signed a three-year contract extension last summer. Tavaiβs tenure has included 44 starts, 64 games as well as 308 tackles, 3.5 sacks, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and one recovery. The Hawaii product went No. 43 overall to the Lions back in 2019.
Safety Josh Minkins remains on the non-football injury list in Foxborough, while tight end Austin Hooper, wide receiver Mack Hollins and offensive tackle Vederian Lowe remain on the physically unable to perform list. All four continue to count on the active roster and can begin practicing at any point during camp.
The Patriots return for a 10:15 a.m. ET session on Thursday.
