Revenge of the Birds
We have been waiting to see which Arizona high school product would be the starter for the New Orleans Saints in their preseason opener. Well, the Arizona Cardinals will see Pinnacle High School alum Spencer Rattler.
Rattler was a fifth round pick out of South Carolina in the 2024 NFL Draft, before they decided to follow that up with taking Tyler Shough in round two of the 2025 NFL Draft. What is interesting is that Rattler is a full year younger than Shough, despite having a year in the NFL already.
Last year Rattler saw action in seven games, starting six of them, finished 0-6 with a 57% completion rate, 1,317 yards and four touchdowns to five interceptions. He also was sacked an astounding 22 times last year in only six starts.
The Cardinals have a great opportunity to show something in game one this year against a team that has never won with the man they named their starter for the 2025 season.
