The Arizona Cardinals are entering a new era during the 2026 season. Arizona brought in Mike LaFleur at head coach after firing Jonathan Gannon earlier this offseason. The Cardinals added some talented players over the past few months who could be key pieces of their rebuild. Arizona just added another player who could play a role, too.

The Cardinals have signed veteran tight end Kenny Yeboah, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. He spent the first four years of his career with the Jets before joining the Lions in 2025.

Yeboah miss the entire 2025 season due to an undisclosed injury. Detroit placed him on injured reserve on August 10th before ultimately releasing him on November 4th with an injury settlement.

As for this offseason, Yeboah attended minicamp with the Chiefs on a tryout basis. Unfortunately, he did not earn a roster spot in Kansas City. Now Yeboah can try his luck in Arizona.

If Yeboah makes the final roster with the Cardinals, he will be competing for a backup spot behind Trey McBride. He will be in direction competition with Tip Reiman, Elijah Higgins, and Teagan Quitoriano.

Yeboah specializes as a blocker in the NFL. He very rarely goes out for routes and catches passes. In fact, Yeboah has just nine receptions for 111 receiving yards and one touchdowns on 15 targets throughout his career. His running blocking skills could make him valuable in Arizona, especially with Jeremiyah Love now in the backfield.

If he plays the entire season, Yeboah will play against each of his former teams in 2027. Arizona plays against Detroit in Week 5, Kansas City in Week 11, and New York in Week 15.

It will be fascinating to see if Yeboah can win a roster spot in Arizona during training camp.
