The Arizona Cardinals thought a 14-loss season after being viewed as a playoff team was just too much for owner Michael Bidwell. Jonathan Gannon was fired on Black Monday. The media and fans were split on whether Bidwill would ax the three-year tenure of Gannon, or give him one more season.

The franchise began the season going 2-0 and then lost 15 of 16 games. This roster even set a 127-year franchise record of losing the most games in a single season with 14 losses.

QB Kyler Murray and Gannon got along really well. Every time somebody in the media would ask about Murray starting, Gannon was always in Murray’s corner, stating he would start as long as he was healthy, even when he wasn’t playing well. In Gannon’s words: “He’s our starting quarterback.”

The fact that Gannon was let go while Murray is rehabbing an injury and spent time away from the practice facilities must have been tough for the embattled quarterback.

Late Monday, Murray posted a message on his “X” account.

The two have respect for each other and despite highs and lows, they appreciate the battle.

Despite how any Cardinals fan views Murray and Gannon, this was pure class.

Here’s looking forward to future success for them both.
