Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s whether second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson can step up into void left by the injury to starting wide receiver Calvin Austin III.
Austin has been playing mostly in the slot for Pittsburgh so far this season, and that’s where eight of his 10 receptions have come. Wilson has mostly been playing outside, and hasn’t done much with his opportunity there, earning only two targets.
But can Wilson have more success replacing Austin in the slot? Alan breaks it down.
