Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward is not willing to add to the Aaron Rodgers speculation with minicamp next week.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers OTAs are officially in the books, which means even more eyes are on free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers with mandatory minicamp set to kick off next week. Veteran defensive tackle Cameron Heyward is not willing to add to the speculation, though.
On Thursday, the Steelers longtime team captain was asked if he anticipates seeing a new face next week.
Heyward responded: “Chris Boswell will be here soon.”

It remains to be seen when Rodgers will make a decision on if and where he wants to play in 2025. Many believe it is only a matter of time until he officially signs with Pittsburgh, but anything is possible until pen is put to paper.
It’s also unclear how much longer the Steelers are willing to wait on the 41-year-old. The team has remained patient with Rodgers all offseason but has begun to put more pressure on him.
President Art Rooney II said at the NFL owners meetings in March that the team will “not wait forever” for Rodgers and he reiterated last month that his stance hasn’t changed.
Minicamp attendance is mandatory for players who are under contract or they will be subject to fines, but Rodgers is not, which means he can continue dragging out his decision as long as he wants.
If Rodgers does not sign before the start of minicamp next week, fans should be prepared to wait much longer as the next deadline would be training camp in late July.
Players will report to St. Vincent College on July 23 with the first open practice taking place the following day.
