Los Angeles Rams star defensive end Jared Verse managed to deliver a savage gesture toward the Atlanta Falcons’ bench after a game-changing play.
Trailing 24-10 late in the third quarter, the Rams desperately needed a big play to get back in the game. They did just that by blocking a 37-yard field goal attempt, with Jared Verse taking it to the house for six.
And during his journey to the end zone, Verse had a little fun by taunting the Falcons’ bench with the “peace” sign:

Though Verse wasn’t penalized on the play, he can expect a call from the league office. The NFL usually fines players who taunt opponents with a “peace” sign, as Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill learned in 2023.
Jared Verse is indeed fortunate that the refs didn’t penalize him on the play, though. Before the 2025 season, the league warned teams that they were cracking down on taunting and unsportsmanlike gestures.
Verse and the Rams will start the 2025-26 postseason on the road. The winner of the Seattle Seahawks-San Francisco 49ers game will claim the top seed in the NFC.
