Matt LaFleur and Ben Johnson had one last fascinating postgame handshake after Saturday’s jaw-dropping showdown at Soldier Field.

Trailing 21-3 at halftime, all hope appeared to be lost for Ben Johnson’s Bears. Matt LaFleur and the visitors had Chicago on the ropes and looked poised to set up a Divisional Round showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.

But the cardiac Bears found more late-game magic, outscoring Green Bay 28-6 in the second half to escape with a thrilling 31-27 victory. And with that, Johnson’s one-year-old comment of beating LaFleur twice a year proved to age gracefully after all.

After Chicago’s thrilling comeback win, cameras showed another interesting postgame handshake between the two coaches:

Matt LaFleur and Ben Johnson had compelling postgame handshakes after their two regular-season meetings. But Saturday’s interaction surely felt extra special for Johnson, and extra sour for LaFleur.

The Bears will either host the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles or Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round next week.
