The Tennessee Titans’ offense had a bad day on Sunday. There were missed blocks, a missed opportunity to challenge a play, and plenty of drops. Cam Ward gave a great response when he was asked about the drops (via Jim Wyatt):

“I am never going to get on those guys for dropping a ball,” Ward said. “I’m going to throw a pick at some point in the season. So, bad plays are going to happen. The biggest thing is when we get back to the huddle, we have to always have a next-play mentality. I am not too worried about that – those boys are going to catch the ball.”

Once the ball has been dropped, there really isn’t anything that can be done. Cam is right, the most important thing is to move on to the next play and not let it happen again.

The more I hear from Cam, the more I am convinced the Titans finally have their guy. The moment wasn’t too big for him on Sunday, and it doesn’t seem like his confidence is going to be shaken even if he has a bad game. That’s extremely important for a quarterback.

With all of that being said, I hope those drop issues get fixed this week. It’s really tough to stomach the fact that the outcome of that game could have been different if even half of the dropped passes had been caught.
