The Cincinnati Bengals and Trey Hendrickson have yet to reach terms on a new contract extension.
But one of Hendrickson’s former teammates from his time with the New Orleans Saints thinks it’s way past time.
Appearing on “Up & Adams”, Cam Jordan told host Kay Adams: “He needs to be paid. Has he got paid yet? Give him all the money! Run the bag!”
The Saints pass rusher brought up contracts for T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett, arguing that Hendrickson should have been before at least one of those two in terms of getting paid. He also thinks Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons is long overdue for a deal.
Jordan, who has 121.5 sacks in his career so far, pointed out that the Bengals have never had a pass rusher like Hendrickson.
Finally, Adams asked Jordan if Saints VP Mickey Loomis should make a call to reunite Jordan and Hendrickson. “Now in the scheme that we’re in? For sure!” Jordan responded.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are hoping to get something out of two of their former first round Draft picks, Myles Murphy and Shemar Stewart, in Hendrickson’s absence.
Stewart flashed potential in his preseason debut, as we discussed in the video below.
