Long-time defensive lineman Cameron Jordan has remained in the free agency pool throughout most of the offseason. While there were rumors he was fielding offers from multiple teams, it appears he will be heading back to the New Orleans Saints with a new deal.
Reports indicate that the 36-year-old defensive end will be signing a one-year contract with the Saints, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The exact financial details are currently unknown, but it is said that Jordan’s new deal will be incentive-focused.
“The Saints are bringing back one of their franchise greats, as eight-time Pro Bowl DE Cam Jordan is set to return, sources say,” reported Rapoport. “The two sides are putting the finishing touches on a 1-year, incentive-laden deal during his visit today.”
It wasn’t too long ago when Saints teammate Chase Young publicly stated he wanted the 15-year veteran to come back for at least one more season. It turns out he got his wish, as Jordan is bound to work as one of the starting defensive ends in New Orleans’ defense.
Cam Jordan has been one of the most consistent defenders in the league since originally being picked in the first round by the Saints in the 2011 NFL Draft. He has only missed two games throughout his entire career, and hasn’t missed a single contest the past three campaigns.
The 2017 All-Pro First Team defensive end had himself a solid 2025-26 season. He finished last year with 47 combined tackles (32 solo), 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
