PITTSBURGH — Other than his team’s sizeable loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Cam Heyward has another reason to be upset. The longtime Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman was flagged for taunting after Josh Allen’s third-quarter touchdown pass, which put the visitors up 16-7.
Heyward provided some insight into why he was so bothered by the reigning Associated Press NFL MVP afterward.
“Being kneed in my stomach, and then just jawing back and forth, and then just ticked off the entire game because as a quarterback, they’re protected, but I’m not?” Heyward said. “It just pisses me off.”
Heyward added that Allen’s shot was intentional.
“He even said after, ‘I had to do something to get you off of me,'” Heyward said.

The Bills’ rushing game didn’t have to do nearly as much to keep from coming in contact with the Steelers’ defense. Buffalo ran for 249 yards, pounding a resistance that was on the field for much too long. Allen helped out by going 15 for 23 through the air for 123 yards, the aforementioned touchdown and an interception during his side’s victory.
Brandin Echols blitzed off the Bills’ left edge on the fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line, leaping up to try to swat a pump-faked offering down. Heyward entered the mix just after Allen fired it Keon Coleman’s way.
Pittsburgh’s defense limited Buffalo to just three points during the first half before Joey Bosa strip-sacked Aaron Rodgers and Christian Benford scooped it up and ran it in for a score on the initial play of the third quarter.
