After the news was leaked last week, EA Sports on Tuesday officially released the cover of Madden NFL 27 featuring Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.

Williams appeared to throw a pass, with the Chicago skyline in the background.

The 24-year-old signal-caller continues his ascent as one of the biggest stars in the NFL, leading the Bears to the playoffs last season to snap a four-year drought. Williams, who was drafted by the Bears as the No. 1 pick in 2024, threw for 3,942 yards and 27 touchdowns in his second year.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted that Williams became the first player in Bears history to be on the cover of Madden NFL, which was first released in 1988.

In a separate report from Schefter, Williams expressed his joy over his latest personal milestone.

“When I received the call from Madden, it was like my childhood dream was coming true. Being on the cover of Madden NFL 27 is a full-circle moment. I grew up playing Madden and imagining what it would be like to be part of the game,” said Williams.

He is the latest quarterback featured on the cover of the popular video game, joining Michael Vick, Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen, among others.

Williams has a 90 overall rating in NFL Madden 27.

“Caleb Williams is what a true face of the franchise looks like—the culmination of many moments in the Chicago Bears’ incredible history that has led them to their electric, generational quarterback,” said EA Sports executive Evan Dexter.

The much-anticipated game will be released on August 13.
