Buffalo Rumblinks, 8/23: Game day! Bills vs. Buccaneers

The Buffalo Bills take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. EDT tonight in the final preseason game for both teams.

NFL teams have until 4 p.m. EDT on Tuesday to trim their rosters down to 53 players, and tonight’s game represents the last meaningful opportunity for those players on the roster bubble to make a great impression on general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott in their bid to earn a roster spot.

Today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by previewing the game and offers up a few reasons why Bills Mafia should watch, including how much Buffalo’s starters will play and which players have the most at stake in the preseason finale.

Previewing Week 3 Bills vs. Buccaneers

Even though reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen won’t play tonight — marking the first time in his career he won’t see any action during the preseason — there’s still plenty of reasons for Bills fans to tune in this evening.

Among those reasons: how will safety Cole Bishop, cornerback Dane Jackson, defensive end Landon Jackson, backup quarterback Mike White, and offensive tackle Ryan Van Demark respond after enduring rocky performances vs. the Chicago Bears; and who stands out among Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, Tyrell Shavers, Laviska Shenault, KJ Hamler, and Kristian Wilkerson in their attempt to earn a roster spot.

Also worth watching are whether the following bubble candidates can do enough to cement a roster spot: linebackers Edefuan Ulofoshio and Keonta Jenkins, defensive tackle Zio Logue, cornerback/returner Brandon Codrington, and offensive lineman Dan Feeney.
