It seems like every year an undrafted free agent makes the 53-man roster. Who is it in 2025?
It seems like every year, the Buffalo Bills sign an undrafted free agent and he scratches and claws his way to the 53-man roster. In 2024, it was linebacker Joe Andreesen as the latest example.
In 2025, which UDFA has the best chance to make the final roster? Tell us down in the comments. I’ll start you off with a list:
I think of all the years, this year is going to be the toughest in a long time for a UDFA to make the 53-man roster. I think the position where a UDFA could sneak in is at backup offensive tackle, but there aren’t any on this list.
At wide receiver, they have plenty of NFL experience and young players they’ve drafted ahead of the two on the list. The thought process is similar at tight end, where the top four spots seem set. The interior offensive line is pretty straightforward, too.
I think the competition at safety is above Wande Owens with Damar Hamlin and Darrick Forrest, especially is draft pick Jordan Hancock stays at safety.
An injury at defensive end could see Shand sneak his way on while Michael Hoecht is suspended. He’s probably the right answer here to the question of the UDFA with the best chance, even if it’s small.
