Training camp wrapped on Thursday for the Buffalo Bills, so it’s time to drop some superlatives. I was at camp for a couple days and we were talking in the media scrums about training camp crushes, players that fans get very attached to during camp for a great showing. Here are the guys I am looking at for 2025
Tyrell Shavers has a blistering start to camp, went down to an injury on Sunday, July 27th, before coming back a few days later and impressing. He showed speed, ability at the point of the catch, and was available as injuries struck the rest of the group.
Stephen Gosnell has been all over the place at camp, abusing the third-string defensive backs and even catching a bomb for a touchdown from QB1. If he flashes in preseason games, he’s going to be the latest receiver Bills fans want to find a roster spot for.
Not so much for his play on the field, but KJ Hamler was the darling of the premier of Hard Knocks for his scooter purchase mishap.
Solomon is making a push toward more playing time during the suspension of Michael Hoecht and beyond. He had a great camp. I think he may have been on the roster bubble coming in, but I don’t think that is the case anymore.
With plenty of injuries during camp for the tight end position, rookie Jackson Hawes got a lot of playing time including with the ones. He impressed several beat reporters over the course of the month.
Tre’Davious White had a couple down years returning from injury and was on three teams in the last two seasons. But he looked very good in camp and the HBO cameras love him, too. Who says crushes can’t be a little longer in the tooth?
Along the same lines at White, Matt Milano entered camp not rehabbing an injury and has looked excellent. His instincts are still top of the heap even if he’s lost a quarter-step.
I am including Rogers because I wasn’t able to take my eyes off him when his helmet was off. His hair is luxurious. And look at this photo.
