The Buffalo Bills will be without wide receiver Joshua Palmer this week as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars for Super Wild Card Weekend. Palmer did not practice this week due to an ankle injury, but he was listed as questionable after Friday’s practice session. On Saturday, the team announced that he has been downgraded to out for the game.

It’s been an injury-marred season for Palmer, who signed a three-year contract worth $29 million this offseason. Palmer has played in 12 games this season, making eight starts. He set career-low totals in targets (37), receptions (22), receiving yards (303), and touchdowns (0). He missed three games in the middle of the season with an ankle injury suffered against the Atlanta Falcons, then returned to play in two straight games before missing two more games with a recurrence of said ankle injury.

With Palmer out, the Bills still have five healthy wideouts on the 53-man roster. Khalil Shakir, Brandin Cooks, Gabe Davis, Tyrell Shavers, and Keon Coleman are those players. Mecole Hardman Jr., who played in two games with the Bills this season, is on the practice squad, as is rookie Stephen Gosnell. Veteran Curtis Samuel, who caught seven passes for 81 yards and a touchdown on nine targets this season, is on Injured Reserve.
