The Buffalo Bills declared four players out ahead of their Wild Card matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars. One of those players, safety Damar Hamlin, is actually on injured reserve. The team opened his 21-day practice window this week, but he isn’t ready to return. So, they had to declare him out. A second player, wide receiver Joshua Palmer, was initially listed as questionable thanks to an ankle injury, but he was also moved to injured reserve.

Those two players won’t count against Buffalo’s 53-man roster this week—or, in Palmer’s case, for the rest of the 2025 season—so the team still had five players in addition to the other two players listed as “out” to declare inactive today. Which seven Bills are inactive for this week’s Wild Card playoff game?

Here is the whole list of Bills inactives at Jacksonville.

RB Ty Johnson

The veteran third-down back didn’t practice until Friday, but he was listed as questionable heading into the game. He arrived today wearing a walking boot, which basically told us what we needed to know. James Cook and Ray Davis should see most, if not all, of the action at running back. Frank Gore Jr. is up from the practice squad, and he might make his professional debut.

TE Keleki Latu

This isn’t a surprise, as the rookie tight end filled in when Dalton Kincaid was out, but now that the Bills’ tight end group is back to full strength, he’s not needed today.

T Tylan Grable

Buffalo’s starter at left tackle last week is a healthy scratch today. Ryan Van Demark and Alec Anderson are the backup tackles. Sedrick Van Pran-Granger is the backup center.

DT Larry Ogunjobi

Buffalo’s $6.5 million free agent signing at defensive tackle is a healthy scratch for the wild card game. Deone Walker, T.J. Sanders, DaQuan Jones, and Phidarian Mathis are the active defensive tackles.

LB Terrel Bernard

Bernard was one of the four players listed as “out” on Friday, so this isn’t news. Shaq Thompson, who was questionable, is active. Matt Milano, Dorian Williams, Joe Andreessen, and practice squad call-up Baylon Spector are the other linebackers.

CB Maxwell Hairston

Hairston was the fourth player declared out on Friday, so it will be Christian Benford and Tre’Davious White starting at corner. Dane Jackson is up from the practice squad for reinforcement.

S Darnell Savage

The former first-round pick is a healthy scratch once again now that veteran Jordan Poyer is ready to play. Poyer missed Buffalo’s last two games with a hamstring injury.

Here are the inactive players for Jacksonville. Starting left tackle Cole Van Lanen is out.
