Buffalo Rumblings
The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins are about 90 minutes from kickoff, which means that each team has set its respective inactive list. Buffalo had declared two players out already, while Miami had also ruled out two players. Both teams listed four players as questionable, as well, while Miami added another player with a doubtful designation.
Extensive injury lists are common at the season’s midpoint, but both teams in today’s contest are battered and bruised. Buffalo made two practice squad call-ups, as well, so they need seven inactive players. Who are those players? The full list is below.

WR Joshua Palmer
We’re still at least one week away from Palmer returning, and while he was able to practice all week, the Bills ultimately ruled him out today. It’ll be Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Elijah Moore, Curtis Samuel, and Tyrell Shavers active at receiver today.
OT Chase Lundt
Another week, another healthy scratch for the rookie.
DE A.J. Epenesa
Thanks to a concussion, Epenesa will miss the game. Combined with Michael Hoecht’s Achilles tendon tear, it means that rookie Landon Jackson is active as Buffalo’s fourth edge rusher. Joey Bosa, Greg Rousseau, and Javon Solomon are the others.
LB Shaq Thompson
The veteran is out once again thanks to a hamstring issue. The good news is that Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard are fully healthy, and along with Dorian Williams and Joe Andreessen, that means Buffalo has most of its regular linebacker group available. Old friend Baylon Spector is active, as well, as he was elevated from the practice squad.
CB Brandon Codrington
It’s been a bit since Buffalo’s return specialist has been active, as the team has gone with Ray Davis, Curtis Samuel, and Ty Johnson to handle kick return duties, with Khalil Shakir on punt returns. Codrington’s niche role, while important, can be filled by multiple other people who have more versatile uses.
CB Taron Johnson
Buffalo’s top nickel corner seemed to be trending in the right direction after missing last week’s game with a groin injury. However, he’s out once again, which means that Cam Lewis is likely to see starter’s snaps at slot corner.
CB Christian Benford
This is a lot of turnover in the defensive secondary, but after Benford appeared on the injury list this week with a groin injury of his own, it’s not surprising that he’s out today. Dane Jackson was elevated from the practice squad, but I assume that the Bills will go with Maxwell Hairston and a combination of Tre’Davious White or Ja’Marcus Ingram before Jackson sees snaps on defense.
