With Buffalo trying to make up some ground and lower the 10-point deficit they were staring at, wide receiver Khalil Shakir snatched a floating screen pass and tried to gain some yards on a third-and-eight. On his way to a five yard gain, Shakir ran into his blocker and subsequently got up off the ground visibly hobbled as he headed back to the huddle. Shakir returned to play after halftime and didn’t appear to be limping anymore.
With the Bills trailing by three points in the fourth quarter, Cole Bishop was seen on the sideline instead of in the game. He attempted to return to play on a third-and-six, but ran off the field instead. Three plays later and the Benglas pushed their lead to ten, and Bishop headed to the locker room. The Bills later announced that he was questionable to return.
The Cincinnati wide receiver missed Week 13 with a concussion. After returning a limited day of practice to start this week, Higgins had two full days of practice as he cleared concussion protocol. However, in the first half of today’s game, Higgins jumped in an attempt to bring in a Joe Burrow sideline pass. Instead, Higgins landed hard and his head bounced off the ground while the ball fell incomplete. After a brief visit to the medical tent, Higgins returned to play.
In the fourth quarter, Higgins again slammed his head off the frozen turf at Highmark Stadium and sat up holding his head. Another trip to the medical tent, and the wide receiver was on the sideline without a helmet.
