The Buffalo Bills added a placekicker to their roster on Friday, signing rookie undrafted free agent Caden Davis to a one-year deal. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Davis, 21, joined the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. He kicked for Texas A&M and Ole Miss while in college. With the Rebels, he hit 81% of his field goals (42-of-52), including a 4-for-8 mark from 50 yards or more. He holds the program record for the most 50-yard field goals made in a career, and his longest make came from 57 yards out against LSU.
The Bills signed Davis because their primary kicker, Tyler Bass, has been out for much of training camp due to “pelvic-area soreness.” Given that Bass was the only kicker on the roster, the Bills had to look elsewhere, and during their Return of the Blue and Red scrimmage at Highmark Stadium, running back Ray Davis was the man kicking field goals and extra points. Ray Davis was listed as the second-string kicker on the team’s initial depth chart.
To make room for Caden Davis on the 90-man roster, Buffalo released wideout Kelly Akhariyi.
