Darius Slay could have probably played for the Buffalo Bills in Jacksonville this Sunday, but he went to watch his old team instead.
The Bills claimed the six-time Pro Bowl cornerback off waivers after the Pittsburgh Steelers released him in December. However, he refused to report.
Slay opted not to respond after he was asked whether he would have shown up had the Philadelphia Eagles claimed him.
Buffalo placed the former All-Pro on the reserve/did not report list and is apparently still waiting on him. They did not release him after losing to Philly in Week 17, as expected.
Slay is technically a Bills player, but was at Lincoln Financial Field to watch the Eagles play – and lose – instead of joining his teammates in Florida.
You can see him arriving at the game in the video below:
Darius Slay played for the Eagles from 2020-2024.
He joined the Steelers as a free agent last year, but they released him in early December.
Meanwhile, the Eagles’ season is over following a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Bills beat the Jaguars to advance to the second round. They are still awaiting their Divisional Round opponent.
