Bills-Ravens will feature the last two NFL MVPs looking to make a statement on Sunday Night Football.
The Buffalo Bills open the 2025 NFL season hosting the Baltimore Ravens for a Week 1 date under the lights of Sunday Night Football on NBC. It’s an enticing matchup, but one that’s still 115 days away. Yes it’s true there’s a ton of offseason work to be done, training camp to attend, and preseason games to complete. But the NFL rests for no one.
FanDuel Sportsbook has released opening odds for Bills-Ravens Week 1, and the numbers see bettors taking Buffalo over Baltimore. As of publishing, the Bills are 1.5-point favorites (-1.5) over the Ravens, with a -122 moneyline, and an O/U set at 51.5 (-102 for Buffalo).
Bills Mafia well-remembers the last time these teams faced off, just a few months ago during the divisional round of the 2024 NFL playoffs. The Bills ultimately prevailed 27-25 in a game where Josh Allen didn’t need to post MVP-worthy passing numbers. Buffalo’s opportunistic defense wasn’t asked to defend Baltimore’s run game nearly as often as expected, which allowed them to make stops when needed, while creating turnovers at the right moment en route to a 21-10 halftime advantage.
The Ravens clawed their way back behind the dual-threat magic of Jackson in the second half. With the Bills only able to score a pair of field goals in the second half, it allowed Baltimore the opportunity to tie the game at the end of regulation following a touchdown pass from Jackson to Isaiah Likely. Down two points, the Ravens had to go for two, which fell as a harmless incomplete pass to end the game.
Things ended well for Buffalo in January largely thanks to Allen’s two-touchdown first-half effort rushing the football, but victory at home was much in doubt until the very end. The Bills’ offense will need to be at its very best in all phases come September if hoping to begin the 2025 season 1-0.
