Buffalo Rumblings
The Buffalo Bills are looking for a brand new head coach after firing Sean McDermott this week. Two slots have already been filled this week with the New York Giants hiring former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and the Atlanta Falcons hiring Kevin Stefanski, formerly of the Cleveland Browns.
Those are the names off the list. So here’s a list of potential names the Bills will interview.
Brady has received three head coach interviews this cycle elsewhere. He has a relationship with Josh Allen and the rest of the people in the building and called a great scoring offense this season and last. Despite a massive amount of turnovers in the Divisional Round game, the Bills still hung 30 on a great Broncos defense and were in position for a game-winning field goal if not for a bad call from the referees. If there were betting odds posted for who will be the next Bills head coach, Brady would be the favorite.
Babich is a rising star in league circles. He’s probably too green for this call, only serving as defensive coordinator for two seasons, but he’s been prepping for it his entire career under McDermott.
The Buffalo Bills’ former offensive coordinator was fired by the Giants midseason. He’s been taking mostly offensive coordinator interviews this offseason, but he is beloved by QB Josh Allen and has experience. He has a relationship with both GM Brandon Beane and owner Terry Pegula.
Webb is a former Buffalo Bills quarterback who spurned the Bills’ offer as a QB coach in 2022 so he could play one more season in the NFL. In New York under Daboll, he started his first NFL game before becoming the QB coach in Denver under Sean Payton. He’s received multiple head coach interviews this cycle and is a very sexy name on the offensive side of the ball because of his work with Daboll, Payton, Josh Allen, and Bo Nix. He can’t be interviewed until after the AFC Championship Game.
One of the best offensive minds available this cycle, pairing McDaniel with Josh Allen could be very intriguing. Not exactly seen as a leader of men, McDaniel has a very long pedigree as a play designer and play caller, something Bills fans wanted desperately in 2025.
Some will think Tomlin is be the perfect type of motivator to get the Bills over the hump in the postseason. He has said he is taking a year off from football and if the Bills hired him, they would need to send compensation to the Steelers since he is still under contract. It would likely be more than a first-round pick after Sean Payton’s cost to the Broncos was a first-round pick,...
