Maxwell Hairston’s career could be in jeopardy.
The Buffalo Bills’ first-round pick is accused of sexual assault in a civil lawsuit filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
The alleged incident occurred in 2021, while Hairston was a freshman at the University of Kentucky. The lawsuit details an encounter with Rebecca Hendryx.
Bryant Law Center and Meyers & Flowers filed the lawsuit Tuesday after a woman said she was sexually assaulted by the former student-athlete at the University of Kentucky.
The lawsuit states that Hairston engaged in non-consensual sexual contact with the woman in her on-campus dorm room back in 2021.

“During the interaction, Defendant made Plaintiff feel uncomfortable when he attempted to isolate her in his bedroom and, therefore Plaintiff left Defendant’s dorm room.”
She reported the incident to law enforcement and later transferred out of the university.
Maxwell Hairston was never criminally charged.
Hairston recorded 89 tackles in 32 games during his college career. In addition to his tackling, Hairston also had 10 pass breakups, six interceptions, and three forced fumbles.
The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for training camp, which is coming up at the end of July.
The Buffalo Bills are aware of the incident involving Maxwell Hairston.
A law firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted by the Buffalo Bills’ first-round draft pick.
The team is said to be handling the situation internally for now, per WYRK.
The publication noted that Brandon Beane, the general manager for the Buffalo Bills, knew about the incident months ago and addressed it around the draft time. He cited that the situation was fully investigated, that the Bills knew the “notes” on the subject, and that Hairston took a polygraph test.
