While there’s nothing inherently wrong with bringing a sign to an NFL playoff game, doing so does create an interesting set of problems. You’ve got to hold it with you the entire time. You have to worry if it’ll be ruined by the elements, and you have to make sure you’re not blocking the people behind you.
And, for one Buffalo Bills fan on Sunday night, you have to explain to the world what the heck your sign was even trying to say.

Fantasy Football content creator Ian Hartitz spotted a fan at Sunday night’s AFC Divisional Round game between the Bills and Baltimore Ravens who brought a sign that read the follow:
“You can’t spell SUPER BOWL without J__H AL__N.”
Now, listen. Technically the sign is not wrong! You need the letters O, S, L, and E in order to spell Super Bowl. But the execution is just a complete disaster. First of all, the sign just does not scan well on initial read. If I have to put thought into what your sign is trying to say, it’s just not a very good sign.
Secondly, you can technically use that sign format for just about anything if you pick random letters out of a player’s name! You also can’t spell Super Bowl without _at_ick Mah_m__. See how easy that was?
There are, of course, additional issues that fans took with the sign.
“This hurts my head. But mostly because “Super Bowl” is two words. It’s a trademark and everything,” one person tweeted.
“Ok, help I did see this from the press box and though I was hallucinating,” wrote another.
And lastly, what does it matter if you can’t Super Bowl with four specific letters in somebody’s name? That has not helped the Bills make the big game at any other point in Allen’s career! I don’t think the Super Bowl requires star players to have specific letters in their names.
All in all, it’s just a nightmare of a sign, and thankfully this person was called out for it.
