The Buffalo Bills elevated a pair of familiar faces from their practice squad for their Week Six matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Buffalo elevated veteran defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and veteran safety Jordan Poyer ahead of tonight’s Monday Night Football contest.

Phillips, 33, is appearing in his second game with the Bills this season. His first elevation came in Buffalo’s 31-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago. Phillips had two tackles in that contest, playing 27 defensive snaps in the win. Phillips is up to replace rookie T.J. Sanders, who was placed on injured reserve over the weekend thanks to a knee injury. The Bills expect veteran defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi, who’s been suspended thanks to a positive PED test, to join the team for their next game against the Carolina Panthers.

Poyer, 34, is back in Buffalo after a one-season South Beach sojourn, as he spent the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins. Poyer takes Damar Hamlin’s spot on the roster, as No. 3 injured a pectoral muscle and was placed on injured reserve this weekend. Poyer is one of the best safeties in team history, as he totaled 682 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 22 interceptions, 48 pass breakups, 6 fumble recoveries, 8 forced fumbles, one Pro Bowl nod, and one All-Pro nod in seven years with the Bills. His on-field ability was only part of his importance to the franchise, as he and fellow safety Micah Hyde were a tremendous part of growing the current winning culture at One Bills Drive.

This is Poyer’s first elevation from the practice squad this season.
