Buffalo Rumblings
The Buffalo Bills have elevated two defensive players from the practice squad, and both are veteran NFL players. The team announced on Saturday that defensive end Andre Jones Jr. and cornerback Dane Jackson have been elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game at the New England Patriots.
Jones, 27, was originally a seventh-round draft choice of the Washington Commanders in the 2023 NFL Draft. Over the last two seasons, he appeared in 16 games, making two starts while with Washington. He has five total tackles and three pass deflections on his career. This is the first elevation for Jones, who has been with Buffalo’s practice squad for most of the 2025 season. He joined the Bills in August after Washington released him.
Jackson, 29, was a seventh-round pick of the Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has 178 tackles, 30 pass breakups, and three interceptions in 63 NFL games. Most of those games have come with the Bills, as he has been with Buffalo for all but one of his six professional seasons. He played in nine games with the Carolina Panthers last season before returning to Buffalo this offseason.
For Jackson, this is his third and final call-up from the practice squad this season. He has three total tackles, all of which came in Buffalo’s victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackson has played three snaps on defense and 23 snaps on special teams this year.
Buffalo has just three boundary cornerbacks on the 53-man roster, and one of them, Christian Benford, is dealing with a toe injury he suffered in practice on Thursday. Tre’Davious White and Maxwell Hairston are the other outside corners. The Bills also have just four defensive ends on the 53-man roster. Joey Bosa missed last week with a hamstring injury, and veteran Morgan Fox played 11 snaps in his place after receiving the practice squad elevation last weekend. A.J. Epenesa, Greg Rousseau, and Javon Solomon are the other defensive ends on the roster. This is the first elevation of the season for Jones.
Bosa and Benford are both listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Patriots.
