Buffalo Rumblings
Are you tired of awful first-half football out of these Buffalo Bills? Fourth-quarter comeback games only stretch so far before it stings. It’s tough to avoid needing such games when you start them as poorly as these Bills do too often in 2025. Here it is, Groundhog Day yet again, with Buffalo in a huge hole and down 24-7 to a team ready to put on some new hats and t-shirts.
Things couldn’t have started worse for the Bills, where they didn’t get the benefit of replay assist to correctly overturn what was an obvious incomplete pass by quarterback Drake Maye. Then on Buffalo’s first offensive drive, a similarly long pass by quarterback Josh Allen to wide receiver Brandin Cooks was ruled incomplete thanks to replay assist. A massive, likely 14-point swing.
Look, this team is playing some truly awful football today. The offensive line is overmatched, and someone needs to inform Allen that New England isn’t going to let him out of the pocket unless it’s to welcome him to a massive hit.
So while the wide receivers have been mostly invisible and worse, it’s not all on them right now. The Bills are just getting own in the trenches on both sides of the ball. If they hope to avoid hearing the celebratory divisional crown speech from a tipsy Robert Kraft, they better get their heads out of the dirt, quick.
They’ll need to put together some drives and slow down the clock to allow Allen more time on the field. This team is built for the second half. Will it be a winning effort at the end of the day?
With that, here’s your open thread for the rest of today’s Bills-Patriots game. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
