It’s just one of two uniform additions in the final season at the OG Highmark Stadium.
The Buffalo Bills are leaving it all on gridiron for the final season in 53-year old Highmark Stadium. There’s plenty to celebrate before moving the party across the street to their new home, including the many uniform combinations since they set up shop in then-Rich Stadium for beginning with the 1973 NFL season.
To properly commemorate the stadium’s “Rich” history, the Bills are paying tribute to the franchise’s Super Bowl era — when the team made an NFL-record four straight Super Bowl appearances between the 1990 and 1993 NFL seasons. Buffalo will don the red helmets for their final regular-season game at home in this edition of Highmark — Week 18 against the New York Jets.
Additionally, the Bills will bring back their storied standing bison logo paired with their current throwback threads for two games in 2025. Buffalo will wear that uniform combo first for Week 5 when they travel to Georgia to face the Atlanta Falcons. The Bills will suit up in the classic throwbacks again in Week 11, when they welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to Orchard Park, NY.
Interestingly, the team’s official news release from July 22 makes no mention Buffalo’s alternate Color Rush uniform being worn in 2025. The Bills are also set to take part in the Nike / NFL Rivalry program, which includes a yet-to-be revealed and completely new uniform.
The news of the alternate helmet announcement was first reported by Buffalo Rumblings on July 10.
