The Bills will be at home for one game and on the road for two.
The Buffalo Bills’ 2025 NFL preseason schedule has been finalized, with the team announcing dates and times of their preseason games for the upcoming season. The team will be playing host to the New York Giants before heading on the road to face the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As with the Bills’ 2025 regular-season schedule, prepare yourself for a healthy dose of primetime preseason games. Buffalo’s August prep games will also includes a bit of a departure from prior summers, with the Bills suiting up for a Sunday scrimmage.
The home scrimmage against the Giants will take place on August 9 with a 1 p.m. EDT kickoff. With this being the only home preseason game for the Bills, Buffalo also announced this as the annual Kid’s Day game. Giants head coach Brian Daboll makes his way back to Buffalo for the first time since a regular-season game two years ago.
It will be interesting to see what kind of handshake takes place between Daboll and head coach Sean McDermott. There’s also the possibility of these teams holding joint practices in the lead-up to the game. This should also be the debut of Giants rookie quarterback Jaxon Dart.
Next up is the Chicago Bears in the Windy City on August 17 with an 8 p.m. EDT kickoff. These two teams met in the preseason last year — a game where we saw the debut of Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. With Chicago having new head coach Ben Johnson at the helm, we’ll get an early (but basic) peek at the type of offense the Bears will run. This game is also a chance to reconnect with linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. With this being the middle preseason game, expect McDermott to treat it as the regular-season dress rehearsal.
The Bills finish up their preseason slate at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 23 for a 7:30 p.m. EDT tilt. Don’t expect to see a lot of starters in this game for a couple of reasons. The first is that neither team wants to risk any kind of freakish injury with the regular season just around the corner.
Furthermore, the Bills and Buccaneers face each other in Week 11 this season. Granted, by the time the game rolls around in November these teams could look totally different, but why put deploy certain formations in the game that they will see a second time?
