The Bills met with Amos at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, and have had him in town as for an official top-30 pre-draft visit.

There’s just over a week to go until the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, WI. The Buffalo Bills are set to select 30th overall in Round 1 as the board stands currently. As a trend, the Bills have aggressively filled perceived “holes” via free agency in years past for the sole reason to avoid pigeonholing themselves into absolutely needing to draft for one position in the early going.

That said, Bills general manager Brandon Beane has one obvious flaw with his roster that needs addressing. That position is starting cornerback across from franchise cornerstone Christian Benford. Benford rightfully received a nice extension this offseason, which keeps him in royal blue for the next four seasons.

Former first-round draft selection Kaiir Elam was traded to the Dallas Cowboys and last year’s starting CB2, Rasul Douglas, remains a free agent since free agency opened over a month ago. The Bills’ one addition is a familiar name in Dane Jackson who lost his starting role swiftly last season in Carolina on one of the league’s worst defenses. More investment was expected at that spot, but it simply hasn’t happened to date. But one large data point remains with the impending draft.

There’s no rule requiring the Bills to pick a cornerback with their first pick, but it has to easily be the odds-on favorite for the first position selected by the team.

One of the players gaining the most steam for late first-round consideration is Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos, who has met with One Bills Drive on a top-30 visit after initially meeting with the team at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. His background is a fascinating study along with his on-field game film from the 2024 season. Game film against Georgia, Arkansas, and Florida from last season was studied for this report.

Trey Amos Scouting Report

The new age of college football may have a two-time transfer enter the end of the first round in 2025. Amos started his career in his home state with the University of Louisiana where he was a three-star recruit who earned his way to the playing field as a true freshman in the COVID-19 season of college football (2020). Amos would go on to play an additional two seasons with the Ragin’ Cajuns before entering the transfer portal to head to Alabama.

Alabama’s 2023 roster had a ton of talent, which included homegrown high draft selections Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry. Amos entered the Crimson Tide rotation but wasn’t a mainstay in 2023. He once again entered the transfer portal — staying in the SEC and heading to Ole Miss where he was the Rebels’ No. 1 cornerback in 2024.

Amos was named first-team All-SEC in 2024 thanks to his stellar year that included 50 tackles, 16 passes defensed, and three interceptions. Amos has proven production at multiple...
